All in One Underfloor Heating Solution using Micro-Screed Technology with Heating and Comfort Cooling

Products

The Thermoplane system

At the heart of the Thermoplane system is the combination of a screed formed by the highly conductive Gypsol blend of binder and the high-quality performance PEX-a and Multilayer pipe. These produce an emitting surface for underfloor heating which:-

may be laid in thinner slabs (45mm) than conventional sand and cement screeds as it has greater strength and thermal conductivity. This provides greater responsiveness to heating demands, allows room for higher ceilings and consumes less energy to achieve a target level of comfort.

is faster to dry and cure, allowing footfall within 24 hours and loading within [ ] days. This may be accelerated with the Thermoplane programmed drying systems.

Thermoplane Pipe

Manufactured within the EU to the exacting standards certified by DVGW (Germany), CSTB (France), CERTIF (Portugal), AENOR (Spain), the pipe undergoes stringent testing procedures and is constantly monitored through in-house quality control procedures.

UNE EN ISO 15875 Plastics piping systems for hot and cold water installations. Crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X) to comply with:

BS EN 1264 Water based surface embedded heating and cooling systems.

Recognised by their bright green colour, Thermoplane offers two alternative piping materials to suit current specifications and installer preference:

16 x 2,0mm PEX-a with Oxygen Diffusion Barrier: When flexibility is the preferred benefit, PEX-a has been the market leader across Europe due to its pliable nature whilst utilising High Density Polyethylene and Peroxide in the cross linking process.  The resultant thermal memory allows kinked pipe to reform its manufactured shape by applying a hot air gun to the damaged area.

16 x 2,0mm Multilayer: a plastic pipe with an aluminium core, this pipe is preferred by installers who like the rigid nature of the pipe which tends to stay in position once bent to shape.  The multilayer pipe comprises of an overlapped and ultrasonically welded aluminium layer and PE-RT, a polyethylene resin with a unique molecular structure resulting in a high temperature resistance in accordance to UNE 53960EX,

Manifolds

The Thermoplane manifold with double regulating flowmeters is in our opinion, the best stainless steel manifold in the world.

Award winning German design, quality and engineering, this highly resistant manifold can withstand pressures of up to 349 bar yet can produce 70% savings of  raw materials in comparison to conventional brass manifolds.

Many underfloor heating flowmeters have single point regulation.  The Thermoplane double regulating flowmeter permits a precise adjustment of the quantity of water calculated for each individual heating circuit however,  through a unique design innovation allows the previously shut-off heating circuit to return to its set point once the loop is re-opened.

Developed, produced, tested with even the machines and tooling built in-house, the attention to detail through production processes to quality management ensures constantly high quality.

Each manifold port comes with a 16 x 2,0mm insert and a 90deg plastic support bend.

Controls

Actuators

The Thermoplane actuator is a new to market product. Developed with a translucent casing and including an integral energy-saving LED diode, the actuator “lights up” internally signalling the current status of operation for that circuit.

With a high protection level of IP44 the “Normally Closed”actuator has a power consumption of 2,5W

Wiring Centres

The Thermoplane master wiring centre allows four zones/thermostats to be connected to all the main electrical connections for water under floor heating systems. Mounted close to the manifold and connecting room thermostats to their corresponding actuators, Open/Close state is indicated by green LED’s, Boiler and Pump state On/Off by red LED’s. The centre includes a volt free contact to drive external power supply. It is possible to add more zones by plugging in an additional Slave connecting box.

Thermostats

Whether a simple dial or digital thermostat is required, these can be supplied to suit the requirements of the project and can also include floor probes, tamper proof covers or the more complex programmable thermostats which should only be used once technically verified for the application.

Thermomix

Nickel plated, compact and easy to install the Thermomix control unit mixes down high primary flow temperatures, typically from a boiler, to a minimum of 35degC.

Fitted with a 6m head Grundfos pump, the unit is capable of producing an output of 14kW and controls the ufh flow temperature to +/- 2degC

Due to the 20degC flow requirement for initial commissioning the first temperature inputs should be set at the heat source. Once the Thermoplane screed has completed its temperature commissioning cycle the Thermomix can then be set.

Fixing Systems

Aluminium Tacker gun

Light and functional design made of plastic/metal alloy, an ergonomic handle that fits the human hand, manufactured with precision, guarantees clips to be precisely placed into insulating layer, simple design guarantees problem-free operation, improves efficiency and fitters working comfort, which shortens fitting time for floor heating, solid design and high-quality materials used to manufacture the Tacker guarantee long operation and durability. Staple lengths of 40 and 57mm

Clip Rail

An alternative to the tacker system is the clip rail system.  Each rail is 1m long and can interlock with the next rail.  Each pipe clip is at 50mm centres allowing various pipe spacings.

Castellated board

Made of deep-drawn 1mm thick polystyrene film, these interlocking sheets create a single barrier and fixing system that can be laid above thermal and acoustic insulation.
Board dimensions: 1450 x 850mm with an effective board size 1400 x 800mm
Effective area = 1.12m2 with a 50mm grid and a total castellation height of 20mm

Pipe De-coiler with telescopic arms

Working with long lengths of plastic pipe is greatly eased by using a pipe de-coiler.  Placing the pipe on the de-coiler allows for the pipe to be drawn off in a manner that helps prevent kinks and promotes a neat and uniform installation.
